Position Summary / Essential Functions
Provides specialized nursing care and clinical oversight for individuals receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and other substance use disorder services within a correctional setting. Utilizes advanced clinical knowledge, critical judgment, and nursing skills to assess, coordinate, and implement individualized treatment plans that support recovery, withdrawal management, and continuity of care. Administers and monitors MAT medications, including injectable and oral formulations, ensuring safe medication practices and adherence to provider orders.
Provides ongoing clinical support through patient assessment, care coordination, medication administration, treatment monitoring, education, and follow‑up services. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote treatment engagement, manage co‑occurring medical conditions, and address the unique healthcare needs of residents. Maintains accurate and timely treatment documentation and records in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing correctional healthcare services, controlled substances, and Medication‑Assisted Treatment programs.
Active Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Ohio, RN preferred, with current CPR certification. Three (3) years’ nursing experience required. Associate degree in the field of Social Work preferred. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and/or Medication Assisted Treatment programs preferred. One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in a correctional setting preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment within a team approach required. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and have a good driving record.
Grant funded position through December 31, 2026; potential benefit eligibility.
