Our client is a manufacturer of highly engineered materials where an innovative Senior R&D Chemist / Chemical Engineer can join an organization focused on developing next-generation materials, coatings, formulations, and performance-enhancing technologies.

This is an opportunity to work where research and manufacturing intersect. The successful candidate will have direct access to large-scale production operations and will help drive new product development from concept through commercialization.

Your Role:
  • Develop and optimize coating, formulation, and surface-treatment technologies for advanced material applications.
  • Design and execute manufacturing trials.
  • Evaluate alternative raw materials, additives, polymers, bio-based materials, and specialty chemistries.
  • Utilize Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making tools to accelerate product development.
  • Support qualification and validation efforts for highly regulated and performance-critical applications.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to scale new technologies into production.
  • Investigate product performance issues and provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, competitive products, and industry trends to identify future growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategic R&D initiatives focused on next-generation materials and performance solutions.
If This Opportunity Sounds Interesting, You May Have Experience In:
  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related discipline with relevant industrial R&D experience.
  • Strong background in experimental design, product development, statistical analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting products from laboratory development through manufacturing scale-up.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings through reports, presentations, and customer interactions.
  • Experience with bio-based materials, starches, waxes, oils, polymers, additives, or specialty chemical formulations is a plus.
