Business Development, Client Relationship Manager
The Account Executive serves as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day relationships while developing and executing tailored employee benefits strategies. In this client-facing role, the Account Executive partners closely with carrier representatives to research, analyze, and evaluate medical, life, disability, and ancillary benefit plans, translating complex information into clear, strategic guidance. Acting as the benefits subject-matter expert, this role ensures clients receive thoughtful, compliant solutions aligned with their business objectives.
In addition to leading client relationships, the Account Executive provides indirect leadership to the account team by delegating work, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, and ensuring service excellence. This position is responsible for driving revenue growth within a personal book of business by identifying expansion opportunities and supporting producers and teams with new client development, including prospecting and proposal creation. Success in this role requires deep knowledge of employer-sponsored health and welfare plans, along with a strong understanding of the federal and state regulations that govern them.
YourImpact:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Health & Welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary products
- Manage and grow a book of business exceeding $1M in revenue
- Build and maintain strong, reference‑ready relationships with clients, prospects, and carrier partners
- Proactively advise clients on industry trends, regulatory updates, and strategic solutions to address evolving needs
- Lead RFPs, renewals, and open enrollment processes, including carrier negotiations and client recommendations
- Apply underwriting fundamentals to explain funding options, rate impacts, and cost drivers
- Project manage the book of business, ensuring timely deliverables, accurate system updates (e.g., Benefit Point, AMS), and full regulatory compliance
- Review work product, provide feedback, and mentor junior team members while leveraging internal tools and resources to maximize efficiency
BA/BS preferred
- Life, Accident and Health Insurance License required
- 5+ years of health & welfare experience, meets, or exceeds, core practice competency-based skills
- Client-facing experience in the employee benefit industry
- Technical knowledge of benefits administration, Health Care Reform, industry trends, carrier products and services

Pay Range:$51,800 - $85,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
