The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of mechanical systems within our facility. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The ideal candidate will proactively identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and optimize performance.
Working closely with the maintenance team, the Maintenance Mechanic will contribute to a safe and productive work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and operational procedures. Ultimately, this role supports the overall operational goals by ensuring that all mechanical systems function reliably and efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and climb ladders as part of daily tasks.
- Familiarity with three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components such as gaskets.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or related fields.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and safety compliance standards.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and implement effective solutions to restore equipment functionality promptly.
- Operate forklifts and climb ladders safely to access and service equipment located at various heights.
- Work overtime as needed to address urgent maintenance issues and support continuous production schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status to support operational planning.
The required skills such as working with pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems are essential for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues that arise during daily operations. Proficiency in climbing ladders and operating forklifts ensures safe and efficient access to equipment located at various heights or in different areas of the facility. Understanding three-phase electrical systems and the use of gaskets is critical for maintaining and assembling mechanical components correctly.
