Senior Transformer Technician

MVA Services is seeking an experienced Senior Transformer Technician to join our growing field service team. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of hands-on experience with transformer assembly, vacuum filling, commissioning, repair, and degassing of oil-filled transformers.

This is a full-time, travel-based position requiring extensive travel to customer locations nationwide. The Senior Transformer Technician will work in the field performing transformer installation, maintenance, repair, and related service activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

• Perform and support the assembly, installation, and commissioning of power transformers.
• Perform vacuum filling and oil processing of oil-filled transformers.
• Perform transformer degassing and related oil-processing activities.
• Complete transformer repairs and re-gasketing.
• Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and field personnel.
• Follow all company, OSHA, and customer safety requirements.
• Read and interpret transformer blueprints, drawings, and nameplate data.
• Safely operate and work around heavy equipment, lifting equipment, and rigging systems.
• Travel to customer locations throughout the United States to perform field service work.

• 5–7 years of transformer field service experience.
• Strong knowledge of transformer oil processing and vacuum filling.
• Hands-on experience with transformer assembly and re-gasketing.
• Experience performing transformer repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and transformer nameplate data.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification.
• Forklift, manlift, and rigging certifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel nationwide.

The following experience and certifications are highly valued:

• Experience working on 765 kV EHV transformers.
• Energized hot-oil reclamation processing experience.
• Electrical testing experience, including:
• Doble
• SFRA
• CT testing
• TTR
• Insulation resistance
• Class A CDL.

  On the road / customer job sites nationwide
• 12-hour shifts
• Three weeks on / one week off
• Double time on Sundays
• Triple time on holidays
