Job Description
Occupant Positioning System Calibration & Test Engineer – Body Controls Calibration & System Test Team at General Motors.
Responsibilities- Lead occupant positioning feature, system and solution testing (manual and automated) on virtual, bench and vehicle test environments.
- Work cross‑functionally with system safety, system engineering, design release, suppliers, etc. to develop robust test methodologies for safety critical features.
- Lead test automation development and execution.
- Collect data using advanced test equipment.
- Analyze, review results and document failures via PRTS, Jira, etc.
- Author validation reports (CG190 etc.).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (PI planning, DSU, etc.).
- Deliver configuration and performance calibrations to support different vehicle platforms.
- Support regulatory and compliance initiatives for occupant positioning features.
- Lead system test issue resolution initiatives.
- Lead best practices and process improvement initiatives.
- Support program team reviews and demos.
- Maintain communication with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, software engineering or computer science.
- Strong background in programming/scripting/embedded software development (Python, etc.).
- Experience with test automation framework (Autobot, Autoval, etc.).
- Valid U.S. driver license.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in electrical, computer or software engineering or computer science.
- Demonstrated team leadership experience.
- Experience with embedded software development for memory seat module, lumber, message, etc. features.
- Experience with vehicle and bench validation at component or subsystem level.
- Experience with data logging tools (Vehicle Spy, CANALYZER, etc.).
- Experience with behavior driven development (BDD) process and familiarity with Gherkin.
- Experience with Git Hub, Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Jira and other configuration management, version control and code quality tools.
- Experience with virtual testing (CoSIM/GMSIM or other platform).
- Working knowledge of embedded software development using C, Matlab, Simulink and associated tools (Jira, DOORS, Rhapsody, GIT, etc.).
- Quick to learn, ambitious, and willing to work hands‑on with GM’s vehicles and benches.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction.
