Description of WorkThe Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional wellbeing of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA foods to eligible Recipient Agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA.
Duties involve the transportation and delivery of USDA foods to various agencies (covers 42 counties) throughout North Carolina. Some overnight travel is required.
Selected applicant will be subject to a reference check, driver’s license check, criminal background check, and Job Ready Services Fit Test.

Recruitment Range-$33,902-$55,590
- Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license (Class A CDL) and meet commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds of force using a pallet jack when necessary.
- Must be able to lift/stack a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must have good customer service skills and experience.
- Ability to complete paperwork/data entry using a tablet or computer is desired.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
