Operations Manager, Distribution/ General Warehouse

- Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment, including warehousing and fulfillment, transportation, inventory management, and demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
- Warehouse Operations performs/controls manual and automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage and shipment of products, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage and delivery, ensuring efficient flow from vendor receipt to shipment to internal and external customers.
- The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations manages a team of outbound associates to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality pick, pack, and ship operations, monitors metrics, assigns work, coaches staff, and resolves operational issues.
- Directly contributes to Cardinal Health's customer service reputation by ensuring on‑time shipments and high quality, developing talent, and enhancing operational excellence.
- Direct and manage a team of 15‑20 warehouse associates to meet productivity and quality standards such as cycle times, lines per hour, shortages, damaged units, missed dispatches and scans.
- Monitor site productivity, hold associates accountable to daily, weekly and monthly metrics, and provide timely feedback and corrective action.
- Adhere to budgetary guidelines and meet Distribution Center objectives while maintaining quality and inventory standards.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
- Daily schedule workforce to ensure proper staffing and efficient merchandise handling.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Engage in employee development: training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisals.
- Spend the majority of the day on the floor while balancing administrative duties.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and HR.
- Interview and make hiring decisions for lead and associate roles.
- Maintain disciplinary processes and ensure a productive work climate.
- Prepare ad hoc reports using Excel or other programs.
- Maintain accurate attendance/PTO records and scheduling.
- Enforce safety compliance and Cardinal Health regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA and other authorities.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; bachelor’s degree a plus.
- 3‑5 years related experience preferred.
- Prior experience with continuous improvement projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (Pivot Tables and spreadsheets).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Manhattan) preferred.
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of staff in a designated area.
- Set priorities to ensure task completion and coordinate work with other supervisors.
- Apply expertise to solve standard and non‑standard problems within own area.

- Provide direction in development plans and succession planning.
- Align individual goals with work area and functional objectives.
- Build confidence and respect through a positive, energizing style.

- Leverage customer knowledge to develop alternative solutions and share key learnings.
- Resolve day‑to‑day or routine problems using defined processes.
- Brainstorm with the team and provide risk‑appropriate solutions while ensuring team support for operational excellence.
Anticipated salary range: $67,500 - 96,300
