We are currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual for the part-time Facilities Supervisor position in our Facilities Department. As a Facilities Department member, you will play a critical role in ensuring our Owosso and Durand facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational—supporting the teams that care for thousands of animals and serve customers nationwide. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing routine maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance standards are upheld, coordinating contractors, and proactively identifying building needs before they become larger issues.

Schedule

Part-Time – 25 hours per week
Monday–Friday: 9:00 am–2:00 pm

Starting Wage

$18 - $25 per hour

Job Summary / Objective

The Facilities Supervisor will ensure all maintenance requests are processed weekly and proactively anticipate the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance and compliance needs of both the Owosso and Durand facilities. This role performs routine safety walk-throughs, communicates with internal departments and external contractors, and escalates issues before they become serious safety concerns. The Facilities Supervisor acts as the primary point of contact for facility-related projects, compliance requirements, and vendor contracts.

This position works closely with Finance leadership to ensure major projects are anticipated and approved appropriately.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for building maintenance and safety
  • Ensure compliance with routine testing and facility requirements (water, elevator, weight limits, lighting, etc.)
  • Keep projects on track while anticipating building needs to maintain safety and compliance
Day-to-Day Tasks Include
  • Conducting weekly safety walk-throughs (fire extinguishers, leaks, electrical/lighting, building structure, sidewalks, lawns, weight limits, etc.)
  • Processing and completing maintenance requests between both locations
  • Coordinating and managing vendor contracts (garbage, snow removal, elevator inspections, water testing, fire extinguisher maintenance, etc.)
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA and safety standards
  • Communicating safety concerns and project updates to leadership
  • Overseeing construction, electrical, and facility improvement projects
  • Escalating issues proactively before they become significant risks
For This Position, You MUST Possess
  • Experience with OSHA standards
  • Routine maintenance knowledge
  • Familiarity with managing facility-related contracts (water testing, elevator maintenance, snow removal, fire extinguisher inspections, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve safety or compliance concerns
Special Consideration Is Given To
  • Previous supervisory experience with maintenance workers
  • Prior experience overseeing building maintenance operations
