Feeder Insect Technician

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual for the full-time Feeder Insect Technician position in our Owosso Insect Department . As a member of the Insect Department , you will play a key role in supporting our mission by helping maintain healthy feeder insect colonies that supply customers across the country.

Your primary responsibilities will include daily care and maintenance of feeder insect colonies, including feeding, cleaning, monitoring colony health, and assisting with packing live insects for shipment. You will also help follow established procedures to ensure quality, consistency, and animal welfare standards are met.

  Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, ~ estimated for 2 weeks
• $16.00/hour Starting Wages

Day-to-day tasks include:

• Provide daily insect husbandry, including roach feeding, watering, sorting colonies, and cleaning insect bins to maintain healthy, thriving insects
• Ensure high-quality insect care to support production goals, breeding plans, and the continued growth of insect stock
• Sort roaches by size and assess colony health to meet production and quality standards
• Assess, package, and fulfill fruit fly orders accurately and efficiently
• Assist with the maintenance and packing of silkworms
• Perform general facility maintenance tasks such as cleaning, caulking, and building or assembling shelves

For this position, you MUST possess:

• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment

• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining speed and accuracy
• Ability to safely use hand tools such as a hand drill, band saw, caulk gun, and other small tools as required
