We are currently seeking two motivated and detail-oriented individuals for the Part-Time Temporary Insect Technician position in our Microfeeder Production Team Department. As a member of the Microfeeder Production Team, you will directly impact the health, quality, and consistency of our feeder insect production—ensuring our customers receive top-quality insects to support their animals.

Your primary responsibilities will include roach feeding and colony maintenance, isopod care and packaging, fruit fly production support, and assisting in order fulfillment. This role is perfect for someone passionate about insect husbandry, production efficiency, and working behind the scenes to support a fast-growing company in the booming herpetoculture industry.

• Feeding and maintaining large roach colonies
• Splitting roach colonies to increase breeding output
• Feeding and maintaining isopod colonies
• Packaging and counting isopods for customer orders
• Cultivating, sealing, and preparing fruit flies for shipment
• Assessing and disposing of or relocating old fruit fly cultures
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in production areas
• Working both independently and collaboratively to complete daily production goals

• Ability to work around roaches and fruit fly media
• Comfort wearing required PPE, including respirator/N95 and nitrile gloves
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently for extended periods
• Willingness to work in a warm, humid environment with distinct smells associated with large insect colonies
• Ability to work in dusty conditions when sorting

• Previous insect husbandry experience
• Experience in a detail-oriented production role
• Prior experience in breeding or colony management
• Strong organizational skills
