Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Nights position requiring an active MI license, PCU floating experience, and telemetry proficiency.

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required, no compact license accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required
• Experience floating to PCU required
• Proficient with telemetry monitoring
• Must be able to read and interpret heart rhythms
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to Med Surg/Tele specialty required for consideration
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration
• Active Michigan license verification via LARA and/or Nursys required for consideration
• Covid vaccine required, exemptions allowed

• Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Required to float between Med Surg and PCU
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• No call responsibilities
• 13-week assignment
• Deliver direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under supervision of unit leadership
• Develop and update individualized care plans within required time frames
• Provide patient and family education on condition, medications, and self-care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and case management for discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with infection control, medication administration, and safety protocols
• Participate in ongoing education and unit-wide performance improvement initiatives
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
