General Merchandise Clerk – Entry Level

This entry-level team member position focuses on delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude. The role involves a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising, and may require collaboration with other team members and managers on additional tasks.

• Build rapport with customers.
• Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Help customers with questions and direct them to another team member if needed.
• Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
• Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.
• Apply to departments such as Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.

• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong listening and communication skills, face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
• Process-driven and able to follow procedures efficiently.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product; ability to stand for long periods.
• Desire to work with customers consistently.
