Part-Time Armed Security Officer - 1st & 2nd Shift
Scheduled: Alternating Weekends, Saturday 3:00pm to 11:00pm, Sunday 11:00am to 11:00pm at Baker College of Owosso
Wage: $18.00/hour

- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect criminal activity, suspicious behavior, or safety hazards.
- Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, credentials, and permissions.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing armed intervention if necessary while prioritizing de-escalation.
- Observe and report any safety or security concerns, writing clear and accurate incident and activity reports.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, alarms, and security systems to identify potential threats or breaches.
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
- Enforce property rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
- Assist in emergency procedures, including evacuations or lockdowns.
- Maintain proficiency with assigned firearms and comply with all applicable laws and company policies regarding weapons handling and use of force.
- Attend and complete all required training, including firearms qualifications and refresher courses.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid and current Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
- Must pass company pistol qualification.
- Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
- Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of use-of-force principles and de-escalation techniques.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, or driving for extended periods and responding rapidly to incidents.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required psychological evaluations.
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance in uniform.
