The Services Specialist works for Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services in Shiawassee and Gratiot Counties to protect children from abuse and neglect through child welfare practice. The role involves working closely with families and the legal system to achieve reunification, independent living, or other permanent living arrangements for at‑risk children. Positions are located in Owosso and Ithaca, Michigan, and are permanent full‑time roles.
KeyQualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in human services-related field (social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, criminal justice, or related discipline)
- Valid Michigan driver's license required
- No substantiated cases of abuse or neglect as perpetrator on Department of Human Services Central Registry
- No conviction of felony or misdemeanor (with limited exceptions)
- Experience working with families and legal systems in child welfare or related field
