Oxford, AL (local market focus | light regional travel)

We are a growing commercial and industrial general contractor seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support and expand our industrial construction and maintenance work across the Greater Oxford area.

This role is relationship-driven, not transactional. The right candidate will focus on managing existing industrial accounts, developing repeat work, and selectively originating new opportunities aligned with our operational strengths.

What This Role Is
  • Relationship-based selling in manufacturing, processing, logistics, and similar environments
  • Focused on maintenance work, negotiated projects, and small-to-mid capital improvements
  • High visibility with direct collaboration across leadership, estimating, and operations
What This Role Is Not
  • Not cold-call heavy
  • Not bid-chasing
  • Not a project management role
Key Responsibilities Client Relationships & Account Management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day relationship owner for assigned industrial clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding each client’s operational and business needs
  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service
  • Maintain regular client contact, including weekly calls or site visits for active or key accounts
  • Identify repeat work, add-on scopes, and long-term partnership opportunities
Business Development
  • Develop industrial opportunities including maintenance, shutdowns, renovations, and capital improvements
  • Originate new opportunities within existing accounts and targeted adjacent prospects
  • Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline and CRM activity
  • Support achievement of sales and backlog goals established by leadership
Preconstruction & Coordination
  • Lead early client discussions and scope development
  • Coordinate closely with estimating and operations teams during pursuits
  • Maintain working knowledge of job costs and budget drivers to support informed pricing and negotiations
  • Participate in proposal reviews and contract discussions
  • Support smooth handoff to project teams after award
Small Job Oversight
  • Provide light oversight and coordination on small, repeat, or maintenance jobs to support client satisfaction
  • Communicate client expectations internally and assist with issue resolution
  • Ensure quality outcomes without assuming responsibility for schedules, procurement, or field execution
Compensation & Earnings
  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
    , based on experience
  • Incentive Compensation: Performance-based, tied to awarded and successfully executed work
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $115,000 – $150,000+, depending on performance

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in industrial construction, industrial services, or related B2B environments
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
  • Working knowledge of construction scopes, pricing, and delivery methods
  • CRM experience strongly preferred
  • Service-oriented mindset aligned with industrial maintenance and repeat-work environments
