Early Intervention Reading Tutor (Gr. 3-5)

Location:

Great Oak Elementary, Oxford, Connecticut

Early Intervention Tutor for 32.5 hours per week at Great Oak Elementary School (Monday – Friday; 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM with half‑hour unpaid lunch).

• Provide reading instruction to elementary‑aged students.
• Use a variety of reading programs.
• Administer and interpret DIBELS and CORE Phonics assessments.
• Differentiated instruction and progress monitoring.
• Apply SRBI/MTSS process including Tier II and Tier III interventions.
• Participate in literacy instruction training.
• Perform duties assigned by building administration (e.g., lunch, recess, sub coverage).
• Maintain basic computer competency.

• Valid CT Teaching Certificate (Elementary, Reading, SPED).
• Experience working with elementary‑aged students in teaching reading.
• Experience with a variety of reading programs.
• Experience using DIBELS and CORE Phonics assessments.
• Knowledge of SRBI/MTSS, Tier II and Tier III interventions.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and track progress.
• Willingness to participate in literacy training.
• Competent in basic computer skills.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Salary: $24.63 – $27.27 per hour (commensurate with experience).

Full‑time.
