Wilson Language Training is growing and is looking to hire a State Adoptions & Program Specialist.

Job Summary

Wilson is a leader in foundational skills instruction, intensive literacy interventions, dyslexia, and teacher and administrator training and certifications to support effective instruction. In this role, you will use your background in the science of reading and Structured Literacy to serve as the champion of our multi‑tiered program and professional learning offerings. You will contribute to our submissions to state‑level adoption and program approvals in English Language Arts/foundational skills, dyslexia, and related professional learning offerings and certifications.

Leveraging your deep knowledge of our program features, you will craft responses that highlight our programs’ alignment to application requirements, rubric indicators, and correlations, and contribute to thought leadership projects.

Essential Job Functions
  • State Opportunity Monitoring and Evaluation: analyze opportunities and Wilson programs’ fit to specifications; identify gaps and potential solutions.
  • Utilize your strong background in the science of reading and Structured Literacy to understand the nuances of requirements of curriculum/professional learning program review tools, rubrics, and standards, and develop comprehensive responses of Wilson programs’ alignment to those requirements.
  • Manage and develop state‑standard correlations; track standard updates.
  • Support creation of proposal content for the content library; manage the program and professional learning information in the content library; manage the proposal library.
  • Bridge State Adoption/Proposal team with Product Team to finalize package details and enhance program understanding, build expertise in program features and research base, and ensure accurate responses.
  • Employ continuous improvement efforts by tracking results, strategizing improvements, and conveying recommendations.
  • Utilize your strong background in the science of reading and Structured Literacy to manage and contribute to thought leadership activities, including writing guidance and white papers on science of reading or Structured Literacy topics, delivering presentations on those topics, and managing academic conference presentation submissions by WLT staff.
  • Manage projects as assigned, ensuring timely, accurate, and thorough completion.
  • Understand and display WLT’s values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of the science of reading and Structured Literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly develop deep program knowledge of Fundations®, Just Words®, and Wilson Reading System® programs in order to respond to questions and clearly articulate alignment with research, state standards, and submission requirements.
  • Ability to synthesize complex requirements, extensive literacy research, and strategic messaging into accurate and compelling submissions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams while exercising diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects from planning through execution, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver high‑quality work under tight timelines.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with content management tools a plus.
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education or Certification
  • Master’s Degree in Education or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Concentration in Reading or Literacy or equivalent work experience a plus.
  • Substantial background and experience in education, specifically foundational literacy instruction.
  • Background in conveying tenets of science of reading and Structured Literacy in writing.
  • Previous experience working at the state level or with state‑level staff on program implementations, particularly around foundational literacy skills, dyslexia, and professional learning a plus.

Anticipated salary range: $90,900 – $108,100.
