Akkodis is seeking a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer for a full-time position with our client located in Oxford, MA. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge laser systems in a highly collaborative, hands‑on environment where you’ll have full exposure to the product lifecycle—from concept through production.
Salary Range$93,000/year to $123,000/year. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Opto‑Mechanical EngineerJob Responsibilities
- Design precision opto‑mechanical and electro‑mechanical components
- Develop optical mounts and compact laser assemblies
- Build and qualify prototypes
- Perform thermal analysis (FEA) and validation testing
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
- Support product development from concept through release
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
- 5+ years of experience in opto‑mechanical or precision mechanical design
- Experience with optical mounting techniques
- Hands‑on mindset with strong problem‑solving ability
