About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Aviation Safety Officer to champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance within their operations in George. This role is integral to maintaining the highest safety standards across all aviation activities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety management systems and procedures, fostering a robust safety culture throughout the organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence safety practices and contribute to the operational integrity of a leading aviation entity in the Western Cape.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the organization's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification across operational areas.
- Investigate safety incidents and accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to all relevant personnel.
- Monitor compliance with national and international aviation safety regulations.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and communication initiatives.
- Proven experience in aviation safety management, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation safety principles, risk management, and SMS frameworks (e.g., ICAO Annex 19).
- Relevant aviation qualifications or certifications (e.g., Safety Management Systems for Aviation Professionals).
- Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic aviation environment.
