General Surgery Locums Job in North Central Mississippi Seeking 24-hour Weekend/Holiday Call Coverage

Jackson and Coker is partnering with a facility in north/central Mississippi seeking one to two General Surgeons for weekend 24-hour call coverage and holiday coverage this year. The facility is looking to add on 1-2 General Surgeons who are available for the below holidays & that have the flexibility to pick up additional weekends as they come up.

Coverage Needs:
Thursday, 11/26 at 7AM - Monday, 11/30 at 7AM (Thanksgiving
Wednesday, 12/23 at 7AM - Monday, 12/28 at 7AM
Thursday, 12/31 at 7AM - Monday, 1/4/26 at 7AM

Credentialing Requirements:
- A minimum of 110 general/trauma surgery procedural case logs (trauma, large colon cases + other ED emergencies) during the past 24 months and be able to provide them at the time of presentation
- Three references from the last 24 months: 2 peer references + 1 leadership (department chief, medical director, etc.)
- 40 hours of CME per two year cycle

Coverage Details for Assignment :
Board Certification + active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license required (willing to accept candidates with active IMLC)
100% 24-hour call coverage only - no clinic/outpatient coverage needs
Bread & Butter General Surgery coverage to include level 3 trauma
Will be completing daily patient rounding (may include some attached patients) + covering the ED for new consults/emergent cases
Average # of cases vary due to the facility being located in a college town. Will see a minimum of 2-3 cases day + up to 7-8 on home game weekends.
Facility has two staffed General Surgeons - locums coverage is to allow them to have some time off
No mid-level support at the facility designated to General Surgery service line
