About

The Role

As a Lead Valuation Analyst at CBRE, you will be integral in preparing market value appraisals on various real estate assets. You will work closely with senior appraisers, benefiting from their guidance while also developing your skills through training and mentorship. Your responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of comprehensive real estate appraisal reports, managing data entry into the property database, photographing properties, and exploring neighborhoods.

You’ll Do
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and research for appraisal assignments to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Create well-structured market value reports from start to finish, under the mentorship of a senior appraiser.
  • Examine and analyze income‑producing properties, formulating analyses based on market comparisons.
  • Research market trends and recent transactions to draw comparisons with the subject property.
  • Develop comparative analysis based on sales of similar properties.
  • Analyze historical revenue and expense performance; work to project a stabilized operating statement.
  • Learn to use Argus cash flow software and third‑party databases to assist in compiling data for appraisal reports.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team.
  • This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.
What You’ll Need

To succeed in this role, you should effectively meet the responsibilities listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university and 1‑2 years of relevant experience or training.
  • State Certified Appraisal Trainee license is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of financial real estate terms and principles, and a fundamental understanding of real estate valuation methods.
  • Ability to follow general instructions and solve standard problems; intermediate analytical and quantitative skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and strong writing capabilities.
  • Ability to make decisions based on company procedures and policies to meet objectives in a timely manner.
