About the PositionThis is a management position responsible for the administration and operation of a tax area(s) by establishing objectives, standards, and control measures to effectively direct and coordinate the tasks and duties of the tax area(s). This position is also responsible for the supervision of the tax area(s) management staff and other employees. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Monitoring, planning, and directing the workload, processes, and procedures of a tax area(s)
- Reporting and developing tax area(s) statistical reports and other analysis as needed
- Implementing and administering tax area(s) system and/or procedural changes due to law changes or other administrative changes
- Developing and supervising staff by overseeing employee training, appraisals, and personnel actions
- Participating in tax area(s) reviews, appeals and hearings
- Serving as a tax expert by representing the Department with other state, local and federal groups and participating in conferences, seminars, and group meetings
- Strong management skills

Bachelor's Degree and 4 - 6 years of related experience is required. Agency preferred qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years management experience supervising multiple employees is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting or related field with a minimum of 24 hours in the following courses: 18 hours in the following courses:
- Principles of Accounting I and II
- Intermediate Accounting I and II
- Federal Income Tax
- Auditing
- The remaining 6 hours may be selected from the following:
- Cost Accounting
- Advanced Accounting
- Business Law
- Advanced Auditing
- Accounting Systems
- Managerial Accounting
- Advanced Federal Income Tax
- Auditing Problems

Paid Personal Leave and Sick LeaveFull-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave.
