Epic Inpatient Clinical Application Manager - FTE

Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000 per year (offers tend to come in around the mid-point or high-midpoint of the range); annual increases based on performance evaluations
On-site Requirements:
Monday – Friday on-site starting off – will move to hybrid 2 days remote per week after the first 3 months
- Health System is seeking a Manager of Clinical Applications to lead and oversee the daily operations of the Clinical Applications team. This leader will manage the planning, staffing, and direction of application support and development efforts across ambulatory and clinical departments, ensuring high‑quality service delivery, system optimization, and compliance with regulatory and patient‑care standards.
- The Manager will serve as a key liaison between clinical users and IT, leveraging strong knowledge of healthcare applications, workflow optimization, and informatics principles to support organizational goals. The role requires a balance of technical acumen, leadership, and operational understanding to ensure effective application management across the health system.
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the Clinical Applications team, including performance management, staffing, and workflow optimization.
- Oversee implementation, support, and maintenance of clinical applications to ensure alignment with organizational and patient‑care goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between end users, IT leadership, and system vendors, ensuring effective communication and resolution of system issues.
- Support strategic initiatives in system upgrades, optimization projects, and reporting enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and accrediting bodies.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with Nursing Leadership, Ancillary Departments, and Senior IT Management to enhance clinical and operational workflows.
- The Manager will lead the following teams which comprise 33 FTE’s: ASAP/Hospice (also Dragon/Nuance), Beaker/Bugsy, ORCA, Inpatient (comprised of Clin Doc, Orders, LTC, OTX, Case Management, Stork).
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing, implementing, or maintaining healthcare information systems within an integrated delivery environment (hospital and/or ambulatory settings).
- Proven experience leading teams and managing technical and clinical application projects.
- Strong background in healthcare system databases, interfaces, and implementation processes.
- Certifications:
Epic certification or PMP certification would be a bonus, not required. - Must have upgrade experience, Nova, Gold Star, and leadership or Leading a team.
