Description
The Facility, Fleet, and Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, safety, and regulatory compliance of Maxx South’s facilities, fleet, and workplace safety programs. This position oversees facility management activities, fleet administration, vendor coordination, and safety compliance while supporting technical teams and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment. This position services the entire Maxx South Broadband footprint, which consists of Northeast Mississippi and Red Bay, Alabama.
This role has no direct reports and works closely with internal departments and external vendors.
Facilities Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive facilities management program, including safety procedures, preventative maintenance, and asset life-cycle planning.
- Conduct, document, and manage regular facility inspections to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee facility maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, and renovations.
- Coordinate intra-office moves and manage efficient use of facility space.
- Plan and manage facility support services including security, cleaning, waste removal, catering, and parking.
- Provide timely support and response to facility requests and issues from employees and occupants.
- Oversee the company fleet, including vehicle registration, licensing, servicing, inspections, and recordkeeping.
- Ensure fleet compliance with all applicable regulations, including DOT and CDL requirements.
- Monitor fleet safety, maintenance standards, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Support and maintain company safety protocols across facilities and fleet operations.
- Assist technicians with fiber splicing activities and fiber cabinet placements, including concrete work, when required.
- Obtain vendor quotes and manage bids, tenders, and supplier selection.
- Evaluate and compare vendor costs to maximize value and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts to achieve optimal pricing and service delivery.
- Manage contractor and vendor relationships and coordinate service schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, quantity, and delivery standards are met.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent -required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record -required.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations -required.
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and facility operations -required.
