** Job Overview
** We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fragrance Specialist to develop, evaluate, and manage fragrance profiles across a wide range of personal care products. The ideal candidate will blend art and science to deliver unique, consumer-preferred fragrance experiences that enhance product appeal and align with brand identity.
** Key Responsibilities
** Collaborate with product development, R&D, and marketing teams to create and recommend fragrance compositions for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products. Evaluate and select suitable fragrance oils from suppliers, ensuring compatibility with product bases and compliance with IFRA and regulatory guidelines. Conduct sensory evaluation, olfactory testing, and stability assessments. Coordinate fragrance sampling, testing, and documentation throughout the product development cycle.
Stay updated with market trends, consumer preferences, and emerging fragrance technologies. Maintain a fragrance library and ensure proper documentation of trials and evaluations. Communicate with fragrance houses and raw material vendors for sampling and pricing negotiations.
** Qualifications*
* ** Education & Certifications
** BSC, MSC/ Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Perfumery, or related field. Certification in fragrance technology or perfumery from a recognized institute (preferred).
** Hard Skills
** In-depth knowledge of fragrance creation, notes, and formulation principles. Understanding of IFRA standards, allergen declarations, and global regulatory requirements. Experience in analytical techniques like GC-MS (preferred). Proficiency in documentation, MS Office, and formulation software.
** Soft Skills
** Strong sensory and olfactory capabilities. Creativity with a passion for scents and product aesthetics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative R&D environment.
** Preferred Experience
** 2–5 years of relevant experience in fragrance development within the personal care or cosmetic manufacturing industry. Hands-on experience with vendor coordination and multi-brand fragrance portfolios.
