Industrial Coatings Territory Manager
Mike & Jerry's Paint and Supply is seeking an Industrial Coatings Territory Manager to help grow our industrial coatings business throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Reporting to the Director of Industrial Sales, this field-based role will focus primarily on new business development, while also managing and growing customer relationships within an assigned territory.
We are looking for a motivated sales professional who enjoys prospecting, opening new accounts, building long-term relationships, and taking ownership of a territory. The exact territory may be adjusted based on the successful candidate's location, experience, relationships, and market opportunity.
Territory & LocationThis position is intended for candidates who live in or can reliably work throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama.

Regular daytime travel is required. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary based on customer needs, training, supplier meetings, or business opportunities.

Sales & Business DevelopmentProspect for and secure new industrial business throughout the assigned territory.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and sales opportunities.
Build relationships with owners, purchasing teams, plant managers, production personnel, painters, and other key decision-makers.
Maintain and grow existing accounts by identifying additional products, applications, and opportunities.
Conduct customer visits, presentations, demonstrations, trials, and product conversions.
Develop territory and account plans designed to grow sales, gross profit, and market share.
Identify competitors, market trends, and new business opportunities within the territory.
Work closely with the Director of Industrial Sales, branch teams, suppliers, and manufacturer representatives to develop business.
Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, activity, and forecasting information.
Consistently follow up on opportunities and move prospects through the sales process.
Learn customers' operations, coating requirements, application processes, and business needs.
Develop strong working knowledge of Mike & Jerry's industrial coatings and related product lines.
Recommend coatings and related products based on customer applications and performance requirements.
Coordinate product demonstrations, testing, trials, and conversions with customers and manufacturer partners.
Provide responsive follow-up on customer questions, concerns, and opportunities.
Build long-term customer relationships through reliability, technical knowledge, service, and consistent follow-through.
Proven success in outside sales, territory sales, business development, account management, or a similar customer-facing role.
Strong prospecting and new-business-development skills.
Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory independently.
Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.
Ability to learn technical products and communicate their value to customers.
Comfortable working in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, production, and shop environments.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
Industrial coatings or paint
Industrial or commercial finishing
Manufacturing or fabrication
Industrial distribution
Chemicals or specialty chemicals
Abrasives, adhesives, equipment, or related industrial products
Technical B2B sales
Industrial coatings experience is preferred, but it is not required for a candidate with a strong track record in industrial or technical sales and the ability to learn the coatings business.
Physical & Travel RequirementsRegular travel by vehicle throughout the assigned territory.
Ability to safely visit and work within manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and industrial environments.
Ability to participate in product demonstrations and handle coatings-related products or equipment as needed.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
