Concrete Helper assists a Concrete Finisher in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing concrete structures, in fixtures of wood, plywood, and patent-type form systems using hand tools and power tools within tolerances that conform to drawings and specifications.
- Level IV:
Competent to complete Journeyman level Concrete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Assist with operating a transit/level to set grade for paving forms, establish sub-grade, and set grade pens for finished concrete grade.
- Assist with setting forms for alleys, streets, driveways, sidewalks, ADA ramps, inlets, curbs, and concrete structure improvements.
- Assist with placing and finishing concrete to the correct grade to ensure proper drainage and smooth ride quality that adheres to all City, State, and Federal Standards.
- Operation of electric and pneumatic tools.
- Selects, loads, and hauls job material to the work site.
- Direct the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.
- Assist with pouring smoothing and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed.
- Assist with applying seal and hardening components.
- Safely operates power vibrators to ensure the concrete is compacted.
- Assist with the polishing surface using a power surfacing machine
- Work within precise standards of accuracy.
- Compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Observe flat drawings or diagrams and understand how they would look like solid objects.
- Apply basic mathematical skills.

- Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
- Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.

Level IV:
- Thirty-six (36) + months of heavy industrial-related concrete experience
- Other verified experiences or certifications with concrete experience
Level III:
- Twenty-four (24) to thirty-five (35) months of heavy industrial-related concrete experience
Level II:
- Twelve (12) to twenty-three (23) months of heavy industrial-related concrete experience
Level I:
- Zero (0) to eleven (11) months of heavy industrial-related concrete experience
- One (1) year of industrial experience
- Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation
- Personal hand tools required for craft as established on the Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List
- Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights
