Millwright Journeyman - Various LocationsA Journeyman Millwright has extensive Industrial experience (including helper training) and is proficient in installing, maintaining, repairing, dismantling, and moving many types of machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial settings.
Overview of Primary Duties:Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation, operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Works with industry-specific and highly complex precision machines, including but not limited to:- Ball Mills
- Lube Oil Skids
- Turbines
- Generators
- Hydraulic Systems
- Pumps
- Gears
- Bearings
Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Assembles and installs equipment, including but not limited to:- Tram Rails
- Ball Mills
- Lube Oil Skids
- Turbines
- Generators
- Hydraulic Systems
- Pumps
- Gears
- Bearings
Fabricate steel bases for pumps and other equipment.
Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
Must know optical and laser alignments.
Assembles machines by utilizing bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to a foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
Grind, file, and sand parts to fit correctly, which may include operating an engine lathe and turning machine parts to dimensional specifications.
May use transit and level for equipment setting.
Must be able to set and anchor base plates level and square and properly torque anchor bolts.
Must be able to use drills, mag drills, Hougen drills, and other means to drill and tap holes accurately.
Must know how to use precision tools such as dial indicators and micrometers to measure and adjust equipment.
Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Performs lubricating maintenance by following cleaning activities and repairing tools, machines, and equipment.

Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.

Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
Participate in required and assigned training.
Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
Present a mature approach to working safely.
Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.

Qualifications:Level III:
Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related millwright experience
Level II:
Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related millwright experience
NCCER “Performance” Millwright journeyman verification
Other verified experiences or certifications with Millwright experience
Level I:
Four (4) + years of heavy industrial-related millwright experience
Requirements:Read ISO's, Blueprints, P&IDs, and Shop Drawings
Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation
Personal hand tools required for craft as established on the Yates Industrial Minimum Tool List
Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights

- Required to wear safety-approved body harnesses when working at 4’ or above
- Required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting
