The University of Warwick’s Het Sys Centre offers a fully funded PhD studentship on the thinnest sensors: 2D materials in liquid solution, supervised by Dr Peter Brommer.
You will develop and apply state‑of‑the‑art machine learning models to predict sensor responses in liquids, combining quantum mechanics, atomic simulation and AI‑driven sampling to generate terahertz and Raman spectrograms for comparison with experimental measurements, guiding design improvements.
