JOB TITLE: Light Equipment Operator (Bush Hog)

DEPARTMENT: Road Department

REPORTS TO: Foreman and Assistant Road Manager

SUMMARY: Operation and routine maintenance of various types of light equipment used in the construction and maintenance of county roads by performing the following duties, along with other duties as assigned.

• Operating gasoline or diesel powered machinery used in bush hogging, trimming limbs, and patching potholes
• Completion of project assignments that indicate specific results desired
• Responsible for reporting any suspected equipment problems

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be physically able to perform these duties
• Must be able to work Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m

• Basis English skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Prior knowledge of construction and/or maintenance
• Prior knowledge in the safe operation of various types of light equipment

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred
• Acceptable experience in the operation of light equipment which is directly related to this position
