We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered Upper School Counselor to support the academic, social, emotional, and college/career readiness needs of students in grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community partners to promote student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Manage 504 plans, including meetings, documentation, and compliance with federal regulations and school policies.
- Provide individual, group, and classroom counseling services to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive school counseling program, including assessments, referrals, and intervention services.
- Create and manage student schedules, monitor academic progress toward promotion and graduation, and maintain accurate student records, transcripts, and cumulative files.
- Support student transitions, including onboarding of new students and progression between grade levels and educational programs.
- Guide students and families through college and career planning, including college applications, financial aid, dual enrollment, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, colleges, community organizations, and external agencies to provide appropriate resources and support student success.
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Valid North Carolina School Counselor License.
School Counselor Certification if required under North Carolina licensure regulations.
Strong knowledge of student counseling principles, academic advising, and college/career readiness.
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
