This position serves as a College Prep Counselor, guiding students on their educational journeys and supporting their college aspirations through individualized advising and engaging seminar classes.
You will play a vital role in helping students make key decisions about their academic and post-secondary paths, as well as contribute to a supportive school environment. Key
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years school-based counseling experience required
- Demonstrated experience working with secondary students, particularly in college advising or college prep roles
- Strong ability to lead seminar classes and facilitate relevant workshops for upper school students
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of the college application process, scholarship navigation, and academic readiness guidance
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive college prep counseling to 7th-12th grade students, supporting academic goal setting and college admissions planning
- Host and lead seminar classes focused on college readiness, life skills, and academic success strategies
- Assist with workshops, information sessions, and family consultations regarding college admissions
- Track student progress and maintain up-to-date records for effective guidance
- Collaborate proactively with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure student success
