Job Description Summary

Student Building Managers are responsible for the effective operations of The Shriver Center and other facilities we support across various hours. Student Managers provide customers with event audio-visual and technology connection help, assist the full time staff and lead student staff and participate in their daily duties, such as light custodial and event setup/strike. The position represents the administrative staff of The Shriver Center one evenings and weekends and holds professional responsibility, accountability, flexibility, customer service and a high level of trust.

Scheduling is voluntary according to posted work shifts, allowing for customized hours once two posted shifts are requested or assigned. Hours are available in a wide range: 7 days and evenings to choose from. Students enrolled in any college are eligible for this primarily summer hours position. The position includes potential to gain additional shifts in the fall semester.

Job Description Essential Duties
  • Provide support for divisional/departmental services.
  • Provide supervisory functions including, but not limited to, scheduling, determining training needs, preparing training materials, and conducting training sessions.
  • Work is done independently of supervision.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate evidence of advanced technical and customer support leadership, skills in mentoring, training, expert management, and intermediate business.
  • For University Police setting, the student must:
    Serve as public safety dispatcher, emergency response coordinator, and handle confidential information.
  • Work performed is highly complex and requires extensive training (either coursework or in-house departmental training).
Minimum Qualifications

Minimal training or prior knowledge of work is required; job has physical activity element.
