Role Overview
Mechanical Engineer – Bishop Woods, WI. Applies professional engineering techniques to improve product design and manufacturability, plans and coordinates engineering project activities, and aggressively manages engineering change projects with strong leadership, technical and soft skills.
Responsibilities- Enhance performance, improve quality, improve features, and reduce cost of released components and systems.
- Assist in all aspects of design including specifications, agency requirements, tolerance analysis, and FMEA.
- Develop and maintain technical and project documentation, including NPD process deliverables.
- Lead projects and drive forward progress with a strong sense of urgency using company product release and engineering change processes.
- Develop project plans identifying schedules, specifications, risks and contingency plans.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, supply chain, finance, and all other stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical project milestones and deliverables.
- Lead regularly scheduled cross‑functional project meetings and coordinate project activities to ensure goals and requirements are met on schedule and within budget.
- Continuously gather feedback from all project team members to track progress and mitigate risk.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and daily task activities.
- Work collaboratively with Pentair global design centers, manufacturing plants, and strategic suppliers.
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- 5+years of engineering design experience in a high‑volume production and product development environment with a focus on consumer products or appliances.
- Project management experience required; lead projects with minimal management direction.
- Experience using engineering tools such as FMEA, DOE, DVP&R, RCCM, PLM, risk analysis, statistics, and related methods.
- Strong knowledge of product improvement processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing injection‑molded components and stamped metal parts preferred.
- Manufacturing familiarity and comfortable interfacing with all levels of a manufacturing organization.
- Highly detail‑oriented, organized and organizationally agile individual.
