We welcome applicants to join the Miami University Office of Research and Innovation. As part of our research expansion, the individual in this role will lead the area of Research Ethics and Integrity. Primary responsibilities include overseeing research compliance and managing the teams supporting the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Institutional Biosafety Committee, Institutional Review Board, instruction in responsible conduct of research, and administration of financial conflict of interest disclosures.
The director will provide regulatory compliance expertise and manage a growing team of professionals dedicated to research compliance.
- Assist the institution in risk management by staying up to date with statutes, regulations, guidelines, policies, and processes, and effectively communicating these requirements across the university.
- Develop and implement policies consistent with federal and state regulations, guidelines, university policies, and best practices.
- Provide leadership to staff on the interpretation and administration of all relevant statutes, regulations, guidelines, policies, and processes.
- Monitor and assess the performance of direct reports and provide mentoring for success.
- Ensure excellence in assistance provided to university faculty, staff, students, and external agencies.
- Solve complex issues related to research compliance.
- Perform duties as assigned.
- Post-baccalaureate degree.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in research compliance.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in research compliance.
- Research compliance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, managerial, and organizational skills.
