Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Provides patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handles patient intake and discharge processes as assigned and according to hospital and nursing standards.
- Assist in vein clinic as assigned after Healogics Vein Clinic training completed.
- Might serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned; performing initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician, assessing wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating patient status relative to desired outcomes, and identifying situations that require intervention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide education to patients or caregivers, and act as patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of care.
- Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) related duties as assigned, upon completion of Healogics hyperbaric training; may perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing required training.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center providers, program director and medical director regarding clinic and patient needs.
- Function as Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy and perform other duties as required.
- Degree in Nursing (ADN) with current RN license in the state of practice (to be maintained).
- BSN preferred.
- Medical Surgical, Home Health or Wound Care Certification preferred.
- Wound care experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Organizational, prioritization and time‑management skills.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills, including presentation ability and ability to translate complex terms into lay language.
- Customer service and follow-up skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Teaching skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm in all situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems.
- Stationary position for extended periods (≥4 hours).
- Repetitive motions, pushing/pulling, reading, bending/stooping, reaching/grasping, hearing, writing.
- Vision: close, distance and peripheral.
- Travel as required (car, airplane, etc.).
- Color perception.
- Lift/move items up to 20 lbs; lift/move items up to 75 lbs with equipment assistance.
- Key frequently on a computer for 4+ hours.
- Normal office and patient care environment.
- Exposure to mechanical equipment, electrical current, moving objects, blood‑borne pathogens, body fluids, toxic chemicals, flammable gases.
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $39.88 and $50.26 per hour, based on education, experience, geography and operational needs.
