Responsible for maintaining Goggin Ice Center facilities and equipment by performing basic operations and facility support.
Essential Duties- Performs general maintenance repairs on facility components.
- Performs general ice making and maintenance tasks by operating an ice resurfacer and related equipment.
- Monitors activities to ensure the smooth flow of operations and that all systems are fully functional.
- Assists in event setup and teardown.
- Basic ice making and maintenance tasks.
- Skate sharpening.
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Basic and specialized custodial tasks.
- Cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
- Serves as an informal resource to student staff.
- Assists in setup for special events.
- Six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; requires a driver's license.
- Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical repair.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Ability to complete ongoing Certified Ice Technician training.
- Ability to complete ongoing Certified Pool Operator training.
- Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials up to 75 lb.
- Somewhat disagreeable working conditions.
- Exposure to unpleasant elements.
- Pre‑employment drug testing may be required.
- On‑the‑job ice maintenance and equipment operation training provided.
A criminal background check is required. All campuses are smoke‑free.
