Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing general maintenance on university buildings.

• Perform repair work including tile replacement, door and window repairs, and stall stop of sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Repair steam valves and replace motors and pumps on heating/air‑conditioning equipment.
• Repair electrical switches and receptacles.
• Review work orders, investigate the site, determine proper repair procedures, estimate time and materials needed.
• Serve as an informational resource to staff.
• Plan and conduct a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
• Cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
• May assist in setting up stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting systems for special events.

• Six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Driver's license.

• Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair.
• Ability to read schematics.

• Two or more years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs in multiple maintenance trade areas.

Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting materials up to 75 pounds. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions and exposure to unpleasant elements.
