Sr Maintenance/Repair Tech / Emergency Tech (Work Group
9)

First shift (Wednesday‑Saturday): 5:00a.m. – 3:30p.m., 40 hours per week, hourly rate $17.95.

Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to general maintenance on university buildings.

• Review work orders and investigate site; determine proper repair procedures; estimate time and materials needed.
• Perform repair work: replace tile, repair doors and windows, unsink and other plumbing fixtures, repair steam valves, replace motors and pumps on heating/air‑conditioning equipment, repair electric switches and receptacles.
• Serve as an informational resource to staff.
• Plan and conduct a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• May assist in setting up stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting systems for special events.

• Six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair.
• Ability to read schematics.

• Criminal background check required.
