Job Summary
Merton College is seeking to appoint a Food Service Supervisor (internally Senior Common Room & Hall Supervisor) to work in our SCR & Hall team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy and very customer‑facing team.
Hours:
40 hours per week. The position holder will be a valued member of our food service team with excellent interpersonal skills and supervisory experience.
Your line manager will be the Head Steward but you will report on a daily basis to the Head Butler and Hall Steward. As SCR & Hall Supervisor you will supervise the SCR & Hall team to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to members and visitors of the College, and you will oversee the catering for events held in other areas of the College.
Responsibilities- Supervise the SCR & Hall team ensuring excellent customer service.
- Coordinate catering for daily meals and events.
- Maintain high standards of service in the Hall, which seats 120 guests in traditional college style.
- Support the Head Butler and Hall Steward in daily operations.
- Eligible for the University of Oxford Staff Pension Scheme (OSPS).
