Job Summary

An opportunity for a motivated and reliable team player to join the Linen Services Team at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals. The role involves providing a clean linen service to hospital sites and a clean uniform service across the Trust. The successful candidate will be physically fit with a competent level of maths and English communication skills, including reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage linen ward stock levels and deliver clean linen items on a daily basis.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries, keep records of linen counts, track items sent to and from the laundry service, and complete on‑site washing.
  • Assist Sewing Assistants with issuing uniform, maintaining staff uniform records, logo stamping garments, and other associated tasks.
Working Hours

Monday – Friday 07:00‑15:00, with the option for adjustment and potential shift rotation between the John Radcliffe and Churchill sites.

Qualifications
  • Good general standard of education with basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Previous experience working in a manual handling role.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to relate and communicate with people at all levels.
  • Competent written and spoken level of English.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and work on own initiative.
  • Physically fit.
Desirable
  • Pre‑training in Health & Safety, Manual Handling and Fire Safety (training will be provided).
  • Previous experience working in a hospital and/or linen service environment.
  • Smart appearance.
Additional Information

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people and will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
