Join our team at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford as an Electrical Maintenance Apprentice on a 5 year apprenticeship programmeand start your journey in a rewarding career supporting vital hospital services undertaking planned, preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, on high and low voltage systems covering a wide range of equipment, services, and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital.
Location:
John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford
Hours:
40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
Duration: up to 60 months to complete full apprenticeship
Salary: £12.71 p/h
What you’ll do:- Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24 hour maintenance service within the Oxford John Radcliffe hospital.
- Assist in completion of PPM’s and remedials on various electrical and mechanical hospital equipment such as, but not limited to, RCD’s, RCBO, transformers, Emergency Lighting, and Motors.
- Learn to maintain and repair electrical systems that keep the hospital running safely — from emergency lighting to motors and transformers.
- Work alongside experienced professionals, helping with planned maintenance and fixing equipment.
- Develop practical skills through hands‑on experience with high and low voltage systems in a real healthcare environment.
- Gain knowledge about important health and safety standards while providing top‑n ot service to both hospital staff and patients.
- Take on new challenges and grow your expertise, with plenty of training and support along the way.
- Involves attendance at a local college one day per week with 4 days working on site
- Minimum 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above including Maths, English, and Science.
- Great communicator and enjoy working with others.
