As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician
, you will:
- Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Carry out inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance
- Complete repairs to DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Prepare vehicles for MOT
- Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately
- Support apprentice technicians where required
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
Essential
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician
, HGV Mechanic
, HGV Fitter
, or Commercial Vehicle Technician - Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification (NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds)
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
Good understanding of DVSA standards - Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Main dealer or fleet workshop experience
- IRTEC accreditation
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Licence
