Location: Oxford

Salary: £18.00–£19.00 per hour | £37,440–£39,520 per year | Overtime Available

Hours: 40 hours per week | Rotating shifts: 07:30–16:00 / 13:30–22:00

Key Responsibilities

As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician
, you will:

  • Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
  • Carry out inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Complete repairs to DVSA and manufacturer standards
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT
  • Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately
  • Support apprentice technicians where required
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician
    , HGV Mechanic
    , HGV Fitter
    , or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification (NVQ, IMI or City & Guilds)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills

    Good understanding of DVSA standards
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Main dealer or fleet workshop experience
  • IRTEC accreditation
  • HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Licence
