Car Mechanic​/Vehicle Specialist – Independent Service Centre

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our professional workshop team in Oxford. Offering a £35,000–£40,000 basic salary, structured weekday hours (08:30–17:30 with Saturdays on a rota), and full company training for Taxi and VSI checks, this is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated technician looking for stability, quality work, and clear career development.

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Oxford facility, you will:

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing
  , scheduled maintenance, safety inspections, and general mechanical repairs across a wide variety of makes and models.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical & electrical faults using up-to-date diagnostic tools and scanners.
• Perform Taxi Inspections, VSI Checks, and Minibus inspections (with full internal training provided).
• Maintain precise digital job records and collaborate with a close-knit team to ensure a smooth workshop flow.

• Qualifications &
  
  Experience:
  
  NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools for daily repair tasks. Strong diagnostic skills, high attention to detail, and a collaborative team attitude.
