Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Oxnard, California. This role focuses on reconciling accounts receivable and requires strong Excel proficiency. The position is fully onsite and will last approximately one month.

Responsibilities:

- Perform detailed account reconciliations within accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Manage general ledger entries, maintaining precise records for financial reporting.

- Prepare and post journal entries with a high level of attention to detail.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and organize financial data effectively.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts in a timely manner.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless processing of financial transactions.

- Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Provide regular updates and reports on reconciliation progress to management.

- Support month-end closing activities as needed.

- Troubleshoot issues related to accounting processes and propose practical solutions. Requirements - Proven experience in account reconciliation, particularly within accounts receivable.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entries.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Familiarity with accounting standards and practices.
