The Assistant Controller will work closely with the CFO and Controller to oversee daily accounting operations, strengthen month-end close procedures, improve reconciliations and internal controls, and support financial reporting across multiple operating entities.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing operational accounting responsibilities with process improvement initiatives.

• Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reports
• Oversee cash management activities and bank reconciliations
• Support AP, AR, inventory accounting, and treasury functions
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting
• Assist with implementing GAAP controls and improving accounting processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff across multiple functional areas
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, inventory, and shipping teams
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation
• Support ERP and reporting system enhancements and process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Progressive accounting experience with strong month-end close ownership
• Experience managing reconciliations, cash management, AP/AR, and general ledger accounting
• Prior team leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to operate effectively in a small-to-mid-sized company environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Public accounting or public company experience
• Agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or inventory-intensive industry background
• ERP implementation or system enhancement experience
• Experience working within multi-entity organizations

• ERP experience required
• Experience with inventory and shipping systems preferred
