Western Dental & Orthodontics is seeking an Associate Doctor in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will deliver high-quality orthodontic care, diagnose and treat patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pediatric dental care including exams, cleanings, restorations, pulpotomies, crowns, extractions, and emergency treatment
- Diagnose oral health conditions and develop age-appropriate, evidence-based treatment plans for children and adolescents
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, preventive care, nutrition, and treatment options
- Review medical histories, manage patient risk, and ensure safe delivery of care for medically complex pediatric patients when appropriate
- Order, interpret, and document digital radiographs in accordance with ALARA principles and clinical guidelines
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records and treatment notes in the practice management system
- Collaborate with hygienists, dental assistants, orthodontists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards within the operatory and clinic
- Communicate treatment plans, costs, and options clearly and professionally to parents and guardians
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented practice culture focused on community wellness and access to care
- Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical skills and patient outcomes
- Support practice productivity goals while maintaining high standards of quality, ethics, and patient satisfaction
Required Skills
- Pediatric restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, pulpotomies)
- Pediatric extractions and basic oral surgery for children
- Behavior management techniques for pediatric patients
- Use and interpretation of digital radiography
- Diagnosis and treatment planning for pediatric dental conditions
- Local anesthesia and pain management in children
- Infection control and sterilization protocols
- Electronic dental records and practice management software
- Patient and parent communication and education
- Management of dental emergencies in children
- Nitrous oxide administration (where permitted)
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with orthodontists and other specialists
- Fluoride and sealant application protocols
- Knowledge of pediatric growth and development and its impact on oral health
