The Oxnard School District will help you obtain one, if you meet the requirements set by Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

Substitute will possess the following personal qualities:
- Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health.
- Evidence of good moral character.
- Satisfactory recommendations from training supervisors or other professionals who have observed the candidate's personal characteristics, scholastic achievement, and job-related performance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
1. Reports to the principal/school office manager upon arrival 15 minutes before the official school opening.
2. Maintains, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
3. Teaches the lessons outlined and described in the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher.
4. Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.
5. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
6. Assumes all the after-school duties of the absent teacher, up to the 8-hour duty day, as directed by the principal and/or learning director. Remain in the assigned classroom until 15 minutes after the official school closing or until dismissed by the principal or learning director.
7. Writes about work completed at the end of each teaching day and leaves it for the regular classroom teacher.
8. Reports to the building principal/school office manager at the conclusion of the teaching day and verifies whether his/her services will be required on the next teaching day. Please upload the following documents to your application:
