The Martin V. Smith School of Business and Economics is seeking temporary faculty to prepare and teach one or more sections of Business Communication courses at the undergraduate level.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Masters degree with a focus in English Composition, Business, Communication, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated preparation for teaching Business Communication at a university level.
- Commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how you would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in English Composition, Business, Communication, or in a related discipline.
- 5+ years full‑time work experience.
- Work/consulting experience in private or public sector related to Business Communications.
- Record of effective teaching.
Teach one or more classes as assigned and as student demand allows. Conduct and turn in assessment activities as outlined each semester.

CompensationCalifornia State University Lecturer Salary (Academic Year) Schedules (anticipated hiring ranges):
- Range 2: $5,507 - $6,677
- Range 3: $6,221 – 13,224
- Range 4: $6,825 - 14,523
- Range 5: $8,593 - 15,211
Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full‑time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
